I don’t know where to start…My sweet one of a kind best friend Cheryl met a one of a kind woman name Teresa and they feel in love and they were married… if you have ever met Teresa, it is like you have known her forever!!! These two are love by so many… Well a few years ago Teresa was diagnosed with MSA (multiple system atrophy), which is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting your body's involuntary (autonomic) functions, including blood pressure, breathing, bladder function and motor control. It, was formerly called Shy-Drager syndrome, olivopontocerebellar atrophy or striatonigral degeneration, MSA shares many Parkinson's disease-like symptoms, such as slow movement, rigid muscles and poor balance. Unfortunately there is no cure, and the condition progresses gradually and eventually leads to death. Teresa is currently is hospice and is bedbound and Cheryl is her caregiver.
Cheryl is currently working for Oklahoma Heart Institute for cardiovascular thoracic surgery as a advanced practice registered nurse and the caregiver for Teresa. Last week the world stopped for all of us and Cheryl was diagnosed with Esophageal CANCER. Cheryl has been losing weight and is having issues eating, but you don’t hear her complain and continues to work and care for her loving wife. This week we had MRI, PET scan, oncologist appt, port placement tomorrow, and getting ready to start chemotherapy and radiation, and feeding tube placement. This family needs help and prayers from us. If you can give to help with medical expenses it will be appreciated.
