With the postponement of the 2020 Charm City Bluegrass Festival due to the current public health crisis, now more than ever, Charm City Bluegrass needs your support.
Since 2013, Charm City Bluegrass, producer of the Charm City Bluegrass Festival, has been a staple of the greater Maryland / roots music community. We've been honored to win awards and recognition for the Charm City Bluegrass Festival from the International Bluegrass Music Association, Baltimore Magazine, and many more.
We've worked really hard and sacrificed a lot to make the Charm City Bluegrass Festival the inclusive, family-focused event at Druid Hill Park it is today. We care about preserving Baltimore's rich roots music heritage and celebrating the great range within the genre. We're asking that you help us continue our mission.
Going into 2020, our 8th-year, all of our festival business indicators were looking great until COVID-19 hit.
Taking the direction of the state and US governments, along with global public health recommendations, we have decided to postpone all in-person Charm City Bluegrass events, including April's Charm City Bluegrass Festival, until further notice. Yes, these events including the festival will be rescheduled (working on a fall festival), but right now we're dealing with a ton of sunk costs and expenses to manage.
This is a crazy time and we hate asking for money. But, if you can help support Charm City Bluegrass in any way, it would be greatly appreciated AND allow us to weather this storm and continue bringing you this area's best live entertainment experiences. Quick note: If you already bought festival tickets and/or a hotel package from us, thank you, and it will be valid for our new date in the fall. Otherwise, please consider donating your proceeds.
Funds will be used to help pay artists who are out of work for April, staff who are out of work for April, new marketing expenses, and to help support the festival reschedule date to be announced very soon.
