can you please help our family get a car.

Hi there my name is Kathryn and this is actually a very humbling thing for me to do if im honest as ive never ever before asked for help online . But I find myself in the position of swallowing my pride taking a deep breath and asking for your help. Im definitely more comfortable in the role of giving!But we need a another car.

  As I was reversing out of a park my car wouldn't reverse and it has been put on a machine that shows it has a issue with gear selectors . It also has other issues and as well as the  gearbox issues a faulty turbo ,brakes need doing and a seal .All amounting to over $7,000 .I am very Happy to provide proof of this should you need it. It is a European car hence the high cost. The car is not worth fixing as it has high KS and the many issues are all separate issues so mechanic said it would be foolish to fix it.

I was going to purchase a car through a friend for $3,500 but unfortunately the car has some issues so im going to have to look at another one and they are very expensive here so im probably looking more at the $6,000 range.

Im in this financial situation because of a marriage break up and also covid . My marriage fell apart with no warning. One minute I was doing normal life then the next my world fell completely apart . The children and I have been trying to piece our lives together since.
My ex moved back to Nz and is not supporting us at all.
I am a sole trader and I depend heavily on  my car for my small business and also our personal use ie groceries etc..  The business has taken a huge hit due to covid and to constant lockdowns here in Melbourne and despite me trying everything I know to do to keep it afloat its been a hard journey.    I do believe I can get it back up to where it was in time as I do have some ideas but I cant do the business without a car. I cant do other work because I have medical issues that prevent me from doing that otherwise I would have gone that route and got part time work.

Ive also seen a financial counsellor to get advice and im not entitled to any government support because i come from New Zealand. I have been very proactive in helping myself and improving finances.

Im happy to give proof of car repairs which is the reason we need another car ,or answer any questions.
