Please help Caitlin with medical expenses
My daughter Caitlin had a bad accident trying to avoid a deer one night on her way home from a friend's house, and wrapped her truck around a utility pole.
The crash resulted in a severe injury to her left leg, and she had to have emergency surgery. To make matters worse, Caitlin was pinned in her vehicle and was all alone for a long time screaming for help in the dark. A kind farmer and his wife finally found her and stayed with her while they waited for emergency crews to arrive on scene.
She had to wait even longer for them to cut her out of her truck, prolonging her shock, suffering, and blood loss. The ordeal was terrifying and everyone is very grateful Caitlin is alive and beginning the healing journey. She is one lucky lady, and the whole time she was worried about the deer!
This brings me to why I'm starting this gofundme. Caitlin doesn't have health insurance, and the medical expenses are piling up. She works very hard as a bar tender, but as such, health insurance isn't a benefit.
Caitlin isn't out of the woods yet. She broke both her fibula and tibia at the base of her ankle. Her calf muscle was shredded, and the skin degloved. Due to the serious nature of her injury, she is at risk for infection, and the skin dying on her leg, which would lead to more hospitalization and another surgery.
Please, if you can help with a donation, no matter the amount, we would be ever grateful. Caitlin has to stay in her bed 23 hours a day, with her leg elevated for 8 weeks. Obviously this means she can't go back to work during that time. The loss of income will be a definite hardship. Thank you very much for your love and support when Caitlin needs it most.
