With profound sadness, we share the devastating passing of Mr. Ibrahim Jirar and his wife, Mrs. Jimea Mahmoud. They were tragically killed by their son, Abdelhafiz Abdelgader, who took his own life after murdering his parents on September 16, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During this incredibly difficult time, we are humbly seeking to raise $35,000 to help cover the burial expenses for all three family members. The funeral service will be held at the Las Vegas Islamic Cemetery on September 29th, 2026 at 11:00 AM. I was close friends with all three family members through the small but tight-knit Eritrean Islamic community here in Las Vegas and am personally devastated by their loss. Since they do not have any relatives residing in the United States and Islamic tradition requires that burial services must occur as soon as possible, I have paid for the burial plots and related expenses via a cashier's check of $30,000 and I will use the donations to replace the out-of-pocket funds. The remaining $5,630 will be electronically sent to their relatives abroad, including the sister of Abdelhafiz/daughter of Ibrahim & Jimea, who currently resides in Egypt.
