Life can change in the blink of an eye.

My best friend, Christie McCord, recently lost everything after a devastating fire broke out in the shop below her salon in Glasgow city centre. The fire quickly spread and destroyed the building where her business, Dumb Blonde Hair Extensions, was based.

Christie is the owner and founder of Dumb Blonde Hair Extensions, a small independent business she built from the ground up. This salon wasn’t just a workplace to her — it was her dream, her passion, and something she poured her whole life into.

She invested so much time, money, love and energy into creating a space she was incredibly proud of. Sadly, the fire destroyed her salon equipment, professional tools, furniture, hair extension stock and many other essentials needed to run the business.

Anyone who knows Christie knows how dedicated and hardworking she is. Seeing everything she built disappear so suddenly has been heartbreaking.

I created this GoFundMe as a close friend to help support Christie during this incredibly difficult time. All funds raised will go directly to Christie McCord, who owns and operates Dumb Blonde Hair Extensions, to help replace essential equipment, tools and supplies needed to begin rebuilding the business.

Many donors are Christie’s clients, friends and members of the local community who became aware of the situation through social media and local news coverage of the fire.
