Help Buddy -A pit bull dumped in Bedstuy, Brooklyn.

Donation protected
Buddy is a handsome, young, intact male pit bull type pup who was witnessed getting dumped at a playground in Bedstuy, Brooklyn on Monday, 9/30. After several days of who knows what on the busy streets of Brooklyn, the following Thursday, 10/3- Buddy approached a gal and her dog for help.
People in the neighborhood worked together that night to avoid him being picked up and taken to Animal Care Centers until they could find his possible owner.
After outreach via Nextdoor, local Bedstuy Facebook groups, and a lack of microchip + no collar/leash - it was confirmed Buddy was indeed dumped with the timeline presented above.

Buddy has since been safe at my apartment with me and my 20 year old, Jerome Kitty.

A small group and I have tried to get Buddy into a rescue program. If you are at all familiar with the current house-less animal crisis, you know that rescues/shelters are completely overwhelmed - so this will be a process that will take time.
Apparently, a lot of rescues do not take strays off the streets, so we got that working against us.

My goal is to get Buddy a thorough exam by a vet to assess his medical needs, get him neutered and have his basic needs taken care of until we can find his forever home.

I understand that a lot of people will say that he found his home with me. I wish I could be in the position to keep him after recently saying goodbye to my own pit bull type pup Penelope, but it is not feasible for me at this time, especially financially.

Buddy is a special boy. He has taken everything in to stride since he has been with Jerome and I. He is incredibly sweet, so loving, chill, well-behaved, silly and so eager to learn.
He is understandably still so confused, anxious and is easily excited. He also has separation anxiety, which so far has prevented me from leaving him alone. I have yet to leave my house without him.

I am asking for help.

I have dedicated myself to Buddy because somebody else couldn't do the right thing and just left him to fend for himself.
He was a pit bull type pup roaming the streets alone, so many terrible things could have happened to him...

Please consider donating what you can. I promise that it will go toward making sure he is safe, happy, well fed and loved.
He truly deserves it after what he has been through.
