Please Help Buddha the Black Cat Beat Cancer

 

I am Chase Holiday from the brand, Furball Fables. For over a decade we, my five rescue cats and I, have posted fun, fanciful videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram celebrating the magnificent creature that is The Cat.

 

My dear, lucky black cat, Buddha has cancer, which shakes my world and fills my heart with prayers. He will require surgery and radiation which would give him a very good chance of beating the disease. Without the medical treatment he will die. I have to fight for him! It can feel humbling to have to solicit funding, but then I remember, it is not for me but for my, sweet, chatty, shy but wise, cool Hollywood hauspanter, (he was born in the heart of Hollywood), who loves to sleep under blankets. A little black kitten that changed my life.

 

An old friend needed my help. His cat had kittens, and he had to remove them from his apartment immediately or risk evacuation. I accepted the rescue assignment, although the herding and securing of the rather wild kittens was not easy, (yes blood was spilled, mine not the cat’s), but I’m willing to sacrifice if it’s for feline welfare.

 

I had no idea how hard it would be to find homes for three black cats. No one would take them because of the old, unfounded, stupid superstition about black cats being unlucky. Not even rescue sources would take a black cat until after Halloween. Finally, I posted a video on YouTube to find them forever homes. Our Furball Fables channel was born. Two of the kitties, Lucky and Ziggy finally were adopted by my neighbor, then something happened.  My other cats surrounded Buddha as much as to say, “We're keeping this little guy, he's not going anywhere,  he's part of our tribe now."

 

Then Buddha and I became Black Cat Activists. We enthusiastically promoted the wonder of these super cool, small panthers, and I’ve appreciated every day I’ve spent with mine.  May God grant us many more.

 

He has been referred to a surgeon. The tumor is next to his lip and after removal he will need some reconstruction. Following the surgery Buddha will also require radiation treatments. The quotes for the lifesaving procedures are about $4700, surgery and $4500, radiation. I am saving every penny I can and have $2500 so far but I, please, need your help.

 

I am calling on all our friends on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, as well as the Black Cat community, my Cat Nanny clients and anyone who has a place in their heart for cats to contribute. I would like to ask for $25 or more but no amount is too small, $5. Prayers would also be greatly appreciated.

 

Buddha has been so brave, trusting and patient, dealing with his tumor and all his vet exams, that I know I owe him this chance. We want to continue to celebrate Black Cats everywhere. Please help me save Buddha’s life. Thank you, Chase. the human
