Please Help Bryan Win This Battle

Hi, my name is Deb Reinard, I’m Bryan Glebavicius’ aunt and godmother.

Everyone who knows Bryan knows he is a sweetheart of a guy, He loves country music and cowboy boots. He loves hot dogs and apple pie. He loves his country and his momma. He’s best pals with his brother, Alex, and talks daily to his sister in heaven. Everyone who knows Bryan, also knows he would do anything for anyone at any time. He’s just that kind of a guy. Need a ride across town? He’s on his way. Need to borrow some money? Bryan’s pulling out his wallet. Feeling down? Bryan’s there with a big hug an even bigger heart and a big smile to cheer you up.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to hear Bryan’s gentle voice or see his bright smile for nearly a month because Bryan has been sick with COVID-19. The virus has taken an extreme toll on Bryan’s body leaving him on a ventilator since Nov. 1st, and a ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) since Nov. 15th.

Bryan’s lungs are heavily scarred due to the virus and he currently has a blood clot in a chamber of his heart. He has been on numerous antibiotics, blood thinners, other medications and has been heavily sedated for nearly a month.

There are days when you wonder how Bryan can possibly have the strength to keep going, but going he does. He keeps fighting and every once in a while he sends a message of hope – a slight squeeze of a hand, momentarily opening his eyes - little things that lets us know Bryan is in this battle to win it.

One avenue of Bryan’s road to recovery will be a double lung transplant. The surgery and associated costs will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. In the meantime, Bryan’s insurance from work is about to be maxed out while his hospital bills continue to mount.

Everyone who knows Bryan knows he’d never ask this of you, so we’ll ask for him. Will you please contribute whatever you can towards Bryan’s medical expenses?
