Hello. My name is John Weeks and I am organising a GoFundMe page for my sister Bronwyn.

My sister Bronny has always been a fighter. She fought Thyroid Cancer in 2008/9, then she fought Breast Cancer in 2022. On Thursday November 7 she finished a day at work and boarded a tram in the CBD to go home. All day she had been suffering from headaches but by the time she was sitting on the tram she described it “as a jackhammer chipping away in her head”. Her memory is fuzzy about what happened next but somehow she rode the tram to the stop at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and checked herself into the Emergency Department.

The cancer has spread to her brain. In an instant, Bronny’s life has completely changed. Scans have revealed 16 tumours scattered throughout her brain. So far, Bronny has had surgery to address the largest tumour (Friday November 14) which is affecting her vision. There is no way all the tumours can be operated on.

Bronny has travelled widely and has friends everywhere, but her world revolves around her two boys – Connor (14) and Marius (13). Those who know Bronny know the intensity she has approached everything in her life and the aim is to keep this going.

Unfortunately, due to the side effects of the tumours, Bronny is now unable to work. Driving will never be possible again. She will always need ongoing care.

As with all traumas the only thing that does not stop is the incoming bills. Many have asked how they can help and if you can find it within your means, a financial contribution will be deeply appreciated. Even if you can just share this request with your network, it will be greatly valued.

All funds will be going directly to Bronny’s care and her boys to help move forward in this incredibly difficult time and unknown future.
