My name is Harlee ( Brittany’s youngest sister ), I’m writing this with a heavy heart as I try to put into words what our family is going through.
My sister Brittany, a friend to so many, was involved in a horrific head-on snowmobile collision that has shaken us to our core. In those first moments, we truly believed we might lose her, something no family is ever prepared for.
By the grace of God, Brittany is still with us, but she suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to receive urgent care. She has multiple severe facial fractures, including her hard palate, maxillary sinus, mandible (jaw), a broken nose, orbital fractures to name a few. She also suffered several spinal fractures. Her injuries are considered polytrauma, and the road ahead will not be easy.
She will require multiple surgeries starting next week once the swelling is controlled. Right now, she is surrounded by family as she prepares for these critical procedures.
Our focus is on helping her get through surgery and begin a long, painful journey of recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing care. She is strong, but this will take everything she has, and everything we have as a family.
Our parents ( Amber-Lynn and Larry Cantrell )are asking first and foremost for prayers. Please keep Brittany in your thoughts as she begins this fight.
If you are able to help financially, any contribution, no matter how small means more than we can express. Funds will go toward medical travel, time away from work, rehabilitation, and the many unexpected expenses that come with such a traumatic accident. Any additional support will help cover ongoing medical care, legal costs, and facial and dental reconstruction not covered by OHIP.
This is the most difficult time in our lives, but we are holding onto hope. Brittany is still here, and that means everything to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support. I will continue to provide updates as we can. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
Sincerely: Harlee Hutchison, Amber-Lynn and Larry Cantrell
