Hi!

I’m Mary, Ted Hand’s wife. On October 5th we came out to Colorado to help one of our 5 kids move home to Maine with their 3 kids and 7 month old babies. Ted got his first flu shot ever to ensure a safe trip.

October 6th Ted could not feel his feet and the weakness followed up to his lungs. He got Guillian Barre Syndrome and went into A-fib as well.

His insurance does not cover out of state medical treatment which he desperately needs. It’s urgent to get Ted home. He went on life-support and now has a trachea and feeding tube. He needs to be medically transported home to Maine which will cost $30,000.

It is easy to feel helpless at the best of times, but especially during the height of the holiday season. Ted never asked for anything from anyone.

He just retired last year after working 43 long overnight years at the Sappi Papermill all while raising his three girls. Please from the bottom of my heart, “let’s get Ted home!”
