Please help bring Makalie home
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Miriama and I am setting up this Gofundme for Makalie on behalf of her family. Unfortunately on Friday evening Makalie passed away unexpectedly at St Vincent’s hospital here in Melbourne. She was only 24 years old. Makalie’s death sent shockwaves through her family and close friends, leaving us devastated.
As one of my best friends, I never thought I would be writing these words or raising funds for her family under these circumstances. Anyone who knew Makalie knew how tender, but big her heart was. Although reserved in nature, she would move mountains for the people she loved and cared about. Whenever you needed her, she was there. No ifs or buts, just there with that big beautiful smile she had - because that’s just the type of person she was and how she’ll always be remembered. We are all so thankful to have known her in this life and to have had the privilege of calling her a daughter, sister, and friend.
Makalie’s family flew in from Adelaide on Thursday to be with her, but now need help with bringing her back home to Adelaide. If you are able to donate, it would mean the world to us. Your donations would help cover transportation costs, funeral expenses and anything else Makalie’s family might need during these hard times, which will be around $15000. If not, we would be so appreciative if you could share the link across your networks. Anything helps, whether financial or getting the fundraiser out there.
Fly high Makalie. You will be missed.
