On January 6, my son Korey suffered a serious and unexpected hip fracture and required surgery the following day. Recovery from a broken hip is significant, and he has been unable to work while healing.

At the time of the injury, he was working as an independent contractor driving for Uber, which does not provide workers’ compensation, disability, or paid medical leave. During his recovery, he is temporarily staying with me, but he is facing lost income, ongoing personal bills, and the continued responsibility of providing for his dog Reina, who depends on him.

In addition, there are expenses related to his recovery, including medical costs not fully covered, prescriptions, transportation to follow-up appointments and physical therapy, mobility and recovery supplies, and basic daily living needs while he is unable to work.

We are opening this GoFundMe in hopes of raising $5,000 to help cover these expenses and bridge the financial gap during the next several weeks, allowing him to focus on healing and safely returning to work.
