Wednesday just seemed as any normal day, as Bobby and Amy were working and baby Oliver, who is 4 months old, stayed with his grandpa (David). Baby Oliver went down for a nap, and minutes later became unresponsive due to going into cardiac arrest, for reasons that are unknown at this time. Baby Oliver was without a pulse and oxygen for 7 minutes as David did CPR on him until EMS arrived and rushed him to Children's Mercy. Baby Oliver has a lot of swelling in his brain and is fighting for his life as he had little to no brain activity on Wednesday. He is on a vent, as he cannot breathe on his own. He did have some movement in his arms, and all organs are functioning as they should as of Thursday, which is good news to hear, but they are still waiting to hear from the neurosurgeon on the extent of the brain swelling and the damage it has caused.
Baby Oliver's parents, Bobby and Amy, are right there by his side, praying, holding his hand, talking to him, and hoping for some good news, but unfortunately the neurosurgeon pronounced Oliver brain dead on Friday afternoon. As they all travel down this difficult road, as no parent should have to, any kind words or donations of any sort are appreciated as they now have to plan for a funeral. Please keep the whole family in your thoughts and send good vibes their way.
