On August 17th I was tubing the Green River in Saluda, NC and hit a small rapid that flipped my tube. During the accident I hit my right thigh on a boulder and thought I was fine, just a bruised leg. In about an hour I developed what is called Compartment Syndrome- a life- threatening emergency that could cost my limb or my life. Emergency surgery- a fasciotomy- was required to save my limb and my life. I am now receiveng three times weekly wound care for a major gash on my right thigh requiring future surgeries and extended physical therapy to allow full mobility back to my leg.
I am a home health nurse in Asheville and love my job so very much. I have four sweet fur babies to care for and a home to keep. I do not know how long I will be out of work or how much I will be able to recover but I'm choosing to stay positive in hopes for a full recovery.
If you feel inspired to donate any amount to assist me in medical bills, mortgage, groceries, wound care, medicine, or regular bills, I would be so very grateful. Thank you for even considering and reading my story. Many blessings of love and light surround us all!!
