Please help Blitz with her critical health crisis.

My name is Lauren Schmitt, I own a beautiful Doberman pup ( 15 mos old), named Blitz.

Blitz was a beautiful robust, healthy and happy pup, until one day; she wasn’t.

Three weeks ago, suddenly; she began hemorrhaging. We rushed her to an animal ER hospital, and were told that her platelets were dangerously low. She was hospitalized for a week, given several medications and tentatively diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, a serious low-platelet blood disease. That was terribly upsetting and cost a bomb that we couldn’t afford. In order to pay it, we went into debt. On account of the fact that once home, she was not responding to medication, it was suggested by the vet that she undergo a bone-marrow biopsy. Terrified that she was afflicted with Leukemia, we moved forward with the procedure- pulling us even further into financial devastation. None of this was covered under insurance. The test was inconclusive. We were instructed to monitor her platelets.m

she began to act so sick she could barely stand up, so again we rushed her back to the ER. and upon being tested, the vet informed us that she was in a critical state: She had no platelets and severe anemia. She was taken back for an immediate blood transfusion and the vet ordered countless tests , medical procedures and medications. Obviously, she is now hospitalized and the vet said that it would be for at least 72 hours. Additionally, we were told that she might have to have her spleen removed, also telling us that they have not ruled out cancer.

At the point we are at now; we have hit a financial stone wall- we have expended all of our resources.

We love our blitz, and she’s only 15 mos old- a puppy. The thought of losing her would be devastating.

I know that things are tight right now for everyone; and I will totally understand if you are unable to donate to this fund, however, if by chance you are willing and able to help us pay for her medical care, we would be unbelievably grateful. At this point, her bills are upward of 20,000 and climbing. We would appreciate any assistance you are able to contribute..
