Hi, my name is Biko and I am an 18-month-old beagle-poodle mix puppy that lives with my mom and dad in Lodi, NJ! My mom and dad adopted me after losing their life-long best friend in the shape of a baby angel Maltese, Bambi. My mommy and daddy are nurses who help a lot of people and I am so proud of them. They love me a lot and make me very happy with my sister, Kaya! They are very careful with my diet and take a lot of long walks with me and my sister.

A week ago, I started having tummy aches and was throwing up my food and water, and had icky poops. When I stopped eating and got tired, mommy and daddy brought me to the emergency room to find out what was happening. The doctors did all the tests and x-rays and thought it was gastroenteritis. They treated me with fluid therapy, pain relievers and other things but I wasn't getting better. The doctors told mommy and daddy to take me to a specialty hospital and they did so right away!

The specialty hospital tested me and thinks I have HGE (Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis). Even though my parents were careful with my food, I might have eaten something bad somewhere. (Oops! Sorry, mommy and daddy!) The doctors are taking a lot of special, intensive care of me and it is still very hard for me to get better. The doctors think maybe parasites or another virus is making my HGE worse but it's hard to test and treat because I won't eat and my icky poops won't stop. The doctors say that they saw some cases like this but sometimes, other puppies don't go home.

I really want to go home to my mommy and daddy! I miss my grandma, grandpa, uncle and auntie. I want to keep playing with my sister, Kaya! (Shhhh she is my favorite.)

My mommy, daddy and I are asking for any and all support we can get, so I can get better and go home! Each stay at both vet hospitals cost over $10,000 because of all of my tests, many treatments and monitoring. So we are asking for $28,000 to cover all of my treatments and procedures so far. Mommy and daddy find it hard to ask for help from kind strangers but they wanted to be strong, like me.

We love you all, and we hope that you will support me and my treatment so that I can get better. I am just 18 months old right now but I want to stay with my mommy and daddy for a long, long time! I don't want to stay another week. I promised mommy that I will be better. We promised to be together forever with my sister Kaya, and I believe I can stay with them longer, with your help!
