Hello Everyone,
Some of you may remember this wonderful guy. His name is Benji. He was was rescued from a terrible place where their version of dealing with stray cats (allegedly) is to poison them or to drown them in the river.
He had a loving home, but his owner passed away. The family put him outside and abandoned him. Due to his charming, loving personality, he was spared the "stray cat" treatment. Unfortunately, that wasn't going to last forever. He is being fostered in a loving home until he is healthy enough to go to his forever family.
Through your generosity he had dental surgery and an attempt to correct his eye was made (the least invasive with the highest potential for correction). Unfortunately, it wasn’t successful. It is thought someone tried to force his eye open when he was a kitten and his eyelid was permanently damaged.
Benji needs this corrective eye surgery. This will completely fix the damaged eyelid, and he will no longer be in pain. As of now he has to have medicine put in his eye twice a day to stop permanent damage to his actual eye. Unfortunately, this a temporary fix.
I hate to have to ask for your help again, but we desperately need it. His lower eyelid is turned in towards his eye, so the hairs are constantly rubbing on it. If it isn't repaired, he could lose his eye. Please help us help Benji. He deserves a pain free life.
This is our last hurdle. He has had so much trauma in his past. Benji should be angry, and bitter and spiteful for all he's been through. But he's not. He's the most loving, affectionate cat I've ever had the pleasure of caring for. All he wants is love and snuggles.
So, please, if you have anything to give, we don't care what the amount, we will gratefully, humbly accept it. I know things are unpredictable tight now, but if you can spare a few (or not so few) dollars, we would be unbelievably grateful.
COST BREAKDOWN:
Surgery: $1133.00
