Hi All,
This is our dear friend Ben and his best friend, Murphy.
And they need our help
Ben is heartbroken over the physical state of his dog Murphy, who has a Cruciate Ligament Rupture. It’s similar to that of a torn ACL. Ouch. It’s very painful and has taken a heavy toll on his physical activity and spirit. He is essentially immobile, can barely walk, confined to the house, cannot use the stairs, cannot ride in the car for his daily hikes as he doesn’t have the ability to hold himself upright.
Luckily there is a surgery available called TPLO: Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, which could help Murphy get back on his feet!
Unfortunately, this is a very costly operation, as several veterinarians have quoted the procedure to be around $6000. This cost may not include the pre-surgery testing, anesthesia, pain meds, physical therapy and additional medications.
And like many of us, this past year has been especially difficult to keep afloat financially. Ben was hit hard when he lost his main source of income when his restaurant closed down due to the pandemic. But despite the hardships, all he wants is to be able to relieve his dog of pain.
…Little Murphy army crawled his way into Ben’s life in January 2010; he was all of 12 weeks old.
Now he is 11, and he and Ben have adventured their way up and down the west coast as traveling companions. They’ve hiked through the redwoods of Northern California, camped under the stars in Joshua Tree, ventured across the beautiful rock formations of the Grand Canyon, soaked in 5 years of rainy days in Oregon, and have many more epic times ahead!
Murphy’s a good boy, full of energy and far too young to lose his ability to move.
If you can give a little to support Ben and Murphy, we would be so appreciative. And the sooner we can raise the funds, the sooner Murphy can receive the help he needs.
Thank you very much for your Generosity and Love XO
