Please help Bella & Peter’s Totaled car

Hi my name is Mirabella Raschke-Robinson. On Tuesday August 22nd at 6:21 pm our car was struck after another driver floored their gas and drove into the drivers door of our car. The entire window shattered all across the inside of our car and the airbags deployed. The car shifted and slid into the street into a parking lot and the drivers door has at least an 6 inch dent from the frame of the car. The drivers door will not open and the airbags on the side and roof of the car slammed into Peter causing him to have bruising on the left side of his body. He has a bruise on his head the size of a kiwi from the impact of the accident. He is currently struggling to lift with his left arm. The car was towed at work and I didn’t get a chance to take out my personal belongings due to needing to work and also from previously cutting my hand from the glass in the car. I got my car in August of 2021 after saving up for years to get a car for school. I paid $7,000 for my 2005 Honda CRV and it’s kept me safe since I purchased her. I currently work two jobs just to pay my bills and my loans. I have no savings and unfortunately Peter and I do not have financial support from family. My mom is in the film industry and with all of the very important strikes by the SGA & WGA going on there’s also no work for film makers. My Brother is currently unemployed and my father is doing his best to take care of himself and doesn’t have the income to share or fully support me and my totaled car. Because of the air bags deploying the car is a total loss, we will only get a little bit of money compared to how much my car would be worth currently in the market. Looking for my year of the car I had and mileage in NY, the price range is from $4,000 - 8,000 which does not equal how much my car could be valued for. Because of it’s age being from 2005 we are look at $2,000-3,000 in it’s value. $3,000 can barely get me a working car today without any car payments. I live 30 minutes away from my job and cannot afford $30-$50 Uber’s everyday to and from work with the income I am currently making. I started a new job in May and I have no PTO, Sick days, or any type of paid time off so could use to help with this situation. Last week I was sick due to my staff members bringing in snacks with peanuts and I had an allergic reactions and had to go home. I did not get paid for the time I was sick from my allergy I can not control and am now out over $100 from my normal paycheck that I could have put towards purchasing a new car which is a necessity in update NY. Thankfully my insurance said we weren’t at fault but since i’m the first person in my family to own a car, i’m not well versed on what it’s like to own a car, or what steps to take after receiving such horrible damage. My car insurance has insurance for other drivers if I damage their vehicle but not for myself because I am a new and young driver and when first getting my insurance it was so expensive and I couldn’t afford more coverage. I could barley make rent and was dealing with back to back car issues I could barley afford to eat and lost a tremendous amount of weight in an unhealthy way. I made the mistake of not paying for the insurance to pay for my car’s damage so we are currently hoping on the other drivers insurance to accept fault and pay for the damages they did. Any donation helps, I live 5 hours away from my childhood home and cannot afford to live in NYC mentally or financially. Syracuse is my home now and I need a car to pay my bills and get groceries for myself. I will not be able to afford my bills or properly take care of myself up here if I don’t have a car. Our goal is $5,000 which can hopefully get us a car of same value as my car and pay for the upgrades we put so much time into for my Honda. Life is crappy sometimes but I am so thankful Peter is alive and safe.
