Gary Millsaps, called "Bear" by all who know him, has been involved in youth hockey here in Dallas for the last twenty-five years. Recently, he was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the prostate. Although moderately aggressive, it was caught in time so that high dose radiation therapy will likely have a total cure possibility of 93.3% with a metastasis-free survival rate at 5 years of 96.9%. This treatment, starting February 8th, will be radiation sessions five days a week for nine weeks. Bear has a history of heart issues, but fortunately, after a PET scan, MRI, and Echocardiogram, clearance has been given for the treatments.
It is our goal to raise money to cover Bear's Medicare co-pay, transportation costs, and other ancillary medical costs. Thank you for your help and please pass this on to others if you feel this effort is worthy.
