It’s with heavy hearts that we ask our community and close friends to come together and help be the village for the Chadwicks.

As many know, the Chadwick family has been navigating an incredibly difficult journey with their beautiful son, Hudson, who is on palliative care and facing end of life. The family has been treasuring every moment, knowing their time with him is heartbreakingly limited.

Now, their world has been shattered even further. On Tuesday, the 14th of October, we tragically and unexpectedly lost Mick Chadwick a devoted husband, father, and friend. This devastating loss has sent shockwaves through everyone who knew him. Mick adored his family beyond measure and was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone. He was deeply involved in the community, always the first to lend a hand or offer support wherever he could.

Mick was so proud of his children recently working tirelessly, day and night, to restore a car so he could take his son Xavier to his school formal next week, just as he had done for his daughter. The family had been focusing all their energy on spending precious time with Hudson, thanks to the kindness and support of our wonderful community. None of us could have known that those would be their final moments with Mick creating memories that will now be cherished forever.

Mick was the sole provider for the family, while Claire devoted herself full-time to caring for Hudson and supporting their children, Phoebe and Xavier. Claire’s days are spent managing Hudson’s complex medical needs and making sure Phoebe can continue to pursue her dreams at university. Without Mick, the family now faces unimaginable emotional and financial hardship.

We are asking everyone who can to help lift this family up. Let’s take away the last thing Claire should have to worry about right now the bills, the mortgage, and the daily costs of living. Let’s allow her to grieve, to focus on her children, and to spend what little time remains with Hudson without added stress.

Your kind donations will go towards Mick’s funeral service and celebration of life, and to help cover the family’s most urgent expenses. Mick and Claire’s mortgage alone is just over $2,600 per month. Our goal is to raise $15,600 enough to cover the first six months of mortgage payments, to alleviate the financial pressure and give Claire and the children the time and space to grieve without the added fear of losing their home. The remainder will go towards micks funeral service.

They say it takes a village but right now, this family needs an army.
