Life and Death. That was the situation for the Aguirre family on Thursday, January 27th.
10 month old Baby Phin starting writhing in unimaginable pain upon waking from a nap.
Cries turned into screams as his poor body was going into spasms with pain. He then started having bloody bowel movements and turned extremely pale.
I can’t even begin to imagine what was going through his mother, Shelby’s, mind as she rushed him to the ER.
After multiple tests, it was confirmed that he had intussusception . This is a potentially fatal condition where one part the intestine collapses in on another part causing a blockage to occur.
The Williston hospital could not provide adequate care for this emergency situation. To receive the best medical care they went by medical air transport to Fargo’s Sanford Medical Center, in the hopes that Baby Phin’s life could be saved.
After more tests and one non invasive procedure it was determined Baby Phin would need emergency surgery, (including an appendix removal), to save his life.
Thankfully he made it through surgery but he isn’t out of the woods yet. More tests will need to be run and days of observation lay in wait for this family, with a possible second surgery ahead.
There are many expenses piling up: flights, hospital stays, hotels and Ruben, the father, being out of work to care for the family at this time.
Medical expenses add up so quickly. Can we all please help to lift some of the worry and burden for this family in need so they can focus on Baby Phin getting better ❤️?
They are the type of people to help others in an instant- it’s now time to give them some help in their time of need.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thank you so very much.
Please pray for Baby Phin.
