Government Picks on Disabled Family!

Baby Nicole and her dad are reaching out to the Go Fund Me family for badly needed funds to help keep Nicole’s nursing care alive. Baby Nicole is currently in Intensive care at Humber River Hospital fighting for her life-on-life support. In the meanwhile, her dad has his own fight going on with all the government bureaucracy going on while Nicole is in hospital. The ministry of health is placing a tremendous amount of pressure on dad. They are claiming that if dad is not able to cover the $50,000.00 monthly cost of Nicole’s nursing care while she is in intensive care, the ministry is threatening to stop Nicole’s nursing support within the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, dad is blind and with Nicole’s mom passing away 7 years ago to liver cancer does not make this situation any easier. Next to raising some very serious funds for Nicole, we need a miracle and lots of prayers asking your GOD or Angel for a blessing.

Unfortunately, maintaining the monthly nursing care cost of $50,000.00 per month is not at all possible for any average working parent to afford. In the meanwhile, if you are not familiar with Baby Nicole’s story, she will be celebrating her 27th birthday this November 8th, 2021. She only weighs 40 pounds which is why she has always been known as baby Nicole. If she could stand, she would be 40 inches tall. She was born with a serious swallowing disorder that prevents her from swallowing and needs a feeding tube for life, this is why she requires 3 different shifts of nurses on a 7/24 basis to share the suctioning duties. If that isn’t enough Nicole cannot walk or talk, she communicates by answering yes or no by nodding her head up and down for yes and side to side for no. Nicole also has full-blown scoliosis of the back and is completely wheelchair-bound. However, according to dad Nicole is the happiest little girl I have ever met when she’s having a good day. The joy of having a disabled child in your life is an unbelievable experience especially with the amount of love and happiness they bring to a family. They really are truly precious human beings. They really are a God-given gift of life. Despite all the medical challenges my daughter faces each day she really never complains unless she is really sick like she now is. She is my little princess, and always will be regardless of what GOD has to say about this.

What’s deeply disturbing about a country like ours that is known to have the best healthcare system in the world, is that the government is turning its back on my daughter when she is fighting the hardest battle of her life and really needs help, the government all of a sudden wants to cut off my daughters nursing care when Nicole needs those healthcare dollars and her nurses the most.

In the meantime, for those parents who are planning to have children be wear of incompetent doctors! Nicole’s fight began 26 years ago when she was born with a number of serious medical issues no thanks to an incompetent doctor who has since died. My daughter's suffering could of all been avoided if the Doctor had just not decided to cut a few corners during my wife’s pregnancy 26 years ago. Nicole’s future was taken away from her due to his bad judgment and looking to save himself some money. By the time my daughter was transferred from her birth hospital Saint Joe’s to Sick Children’s Hospital to Bloorview Children’s Hospital over a 5-year period, this Doctor would have been liable for his wrongful actions regarding the lack of interest he had in both my wife’s and daughter’s well-being if he was still alive.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that he died, my wife and I could not peruse him for any type of medical malpractice damages against him for wrongful birth and failure to follow proper medical procedures during my wife’s pregnancy. At the end of the day regardless of the money, my wife and I never ever gave up on our daughter, even though Doctors gave up on her.

I must say in the past 26 years, Nicole has brought our family nothing but a tremendous amount of joy, love, and happiness which was absolutely priceless. You could not help but to be any prouder of how Nicole has been fighting for her life since her birth. She was in and out of hospitals over 250 times in her lifetime and this will be one of the hardest battles of her life which I hope she will overcome.

I remember some other Doctors at Sick Children’s hospital telling my wife and I back then, Nicole wouldn’t live to see her first birthday. One Doctor even had the gull to describe my daughter to be damaged goods. Boy were they ever wrong back then, even though while she is battling the toughest fight of her life right now at Humber River Hospital in Toronto, she still continues to fight for her life and does not want to give up.

Please help me keep her nursing care alive for another month so we can all give Nicole a fighting chance to recover. She is really an amazing little girl, even though Nicole is under a lot of sedation while on a respirator, she does not seem to want to give up on life. I continue to tell her how much she is loved and how she is the best for her daddy. To help support Nicole’s nursing care you can donate now, any amount would be appreciated. As well, please help dad share this story with everyone else you know including anyone you might know in the media, we need all the prayers, miracles blessings, and funds to help Nicole fight through another day.

Thank You All,
Daddy and Nicole
