Please Help Baby Dáire Maguire
Donation protected
We have an amazing story about the most resilient family we know.
Their holiday adventure began as a family of three, but little did they know they were soon to become a family of four. At just 29 weeks baby number two made his appearance.
Whilst their other son Christopher was enjoying his last day of the holiday with family friends in Lanzarote. Susan went into labour in dramatic fashion. Baby Dáire was born into his daddy’s loving hands in the back of Miguel’s taxi, en route to hospital. Even from there it wasn’t straight forward.
After arriving to the first hospital, they were turned away due to lack of maternity facilities at the hospital and had to drive a further 20km to the next hospital.
Upon arrival, Susan was admitted but baby Dáire was airlifted to Gran Canaria Hospital Materno Infantil, where he was stabilised and is continuing to thrive weighing in at 3lb 5oz.
Susan, Brian and Christopher then had a heartbreaking 24 hours separated from Dáire, even with VHI & The Irish consulate doing their utmost, the challenges continue to mount.
When baby Dáire is strong enough, he will be airlifted to Ireland, but in the meantime Christopher needs to come home. Susan and Brian need to set up base in Gran Canaria, to support their new addition. We as their proud friends we are now calling on you to help relieve some of the financial burden that they are going to face.
In doing this, we hope they can put all their time and energy into what matters most and that’s baby Dáire.
Any donation or share would be greatly appreciated, without doubt this Graiguecullen family will be forever grateful.
