My name is Christine and our amazing friend, Ashley Andrews, has been diagnosed with a rare condition called pheochromocytoma, which is a tumor. She fell ill suddenly last week and was admitted to the hospital. After many tests, the final diagnosis was given. The doctors have put her on medications to try to get her blood pressure down and sent her home to rest until she is healthy enough to have surgery. The surgery will be risky due to the size and location of the tumor. They will have to get her BP down and keep it that way for up to 4 weeks to then take her into surgery. The upfront payment the surgeon/surgery center is requiring is $17,000. She cannot work as they cannot risk her blood pressure elevating. She is the only source of income for her family.
