Arlan is a devoted husband, father, proud grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters — and a wonderful brother who means the world to his family. A man of strong Christian faith and a true outdoorsman, Arlan has always been the first to lend a helping hand and the last to ask for one in return. Whether serving his community, spending time in God’s creation, or helping a friend in need, he lives out his faith through kindness, generosity, and love.

Recently, while volunteering to help a friend remodel their condo in Kona, Hawaii, Arlan became seriously ill. He has been diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease and a severe staph infection and is currently on a ventilator in the hospital. He is now being transported from Kona to Oahu for advanced medical care.

Arlan’s wife Cathi has been by his side through this frightening ordeal — the only family member able to be with him so far. Their children are now working hard to travel to Hawaii to join their mom and be with their dad during this critical time.

While the family’s focus remains on Arlan’s recovery, from this highly critical health episode and knowing the prognosis is serious his children want to be there with him. However, the cost of travel, lodging, and extended stay is creating a significant financial burden.
