Please help Anthony's battle against Cancer

Donation protected
In December of 2022, my brother Anthony went to have an upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy for mild symptoms of reflux. You can imagine the shock we all received when a tumour was discovered in his lower oesophagus. A biopsy and CT scan confirmed he has oesophageal cancer. This is very rare for someone of his age (37). No one can explain why this has happened and anyone who has had a diagnosis of cancer will understand how devasting and traumatic this is. We have been on a roller coaster ride of emotions ever since.

Anthony has recently completed his treatment (a process over 5 weeks for 5 days per week and involved radiation therapy and chemotherapy) and is now preparing for life saving major surgery which will involve the removal of his oesophagus and part of his upper stomach. Following this surgery there will be a significant recovery period and his life will change forever.

Anthony was born with a bilateral severe to profound hearing loss. He was fitted with hearing aids at the age of 2 and had a cochlear implant fitted 12 years ago. He has battled all his life with his disability and has had to overcome many obstacles.

Recently Anthony married the love of his life, Romina, who is also hearing and vision impaired. She lost her mum to cancer just 18 months ago, a devasting and traumatic blow to her and she is all too well aware of the battles ahead.

Anyone who knows Anthony will tell you he would take the shirt off his back to help you. He is the most kind, generous of his time, thoughtful, helpful and respectful person to family, friends, acquaintances and everyone. It’s now our time to help him in any way we can. He is just the nicest guy and a wonderful son, husband, brother, uncle, grandson and friend.

Anthony will not be able to work for at least 6 to 12 months following his surgery. He will need all the assistance he can get as there will be many financial stresses from medical costs, doctors fees, out of pocket surgery fees and the usual bills.

We kindly ask for your donation, no matter how small, as it will greatly ease the financial burden for Anthony. We also ask you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers for the tough times ahead.

Please help any way you can. This will be much appreciated.
