Hello,

My name is Deann and I am Ann's daughter. I am writing today to ask for our family and friends help with this unforeseen situation.

My Mother was diagnosed this past week with Stage 4 Adenosquamous Cancer of the lungs. My Mom had a chest X-ray done on June 30 which showed a large tumor in one lung and clusters in the other.  It also showed 3 more masses on her trachea and esophagus. She had to wait for a biopsy the following week.  Unfortunately before she could go to that appointment, she had difficulty breathing and was spitting up blood.  My Uncle took my Mom to the ER on July 9th. The chest X-ray showed one of the masses that is sitting directly on her trachea grew since her first X-ray. They had to place a stent in her trachea. She spent the next 10 days in the hospital in the TCU. The pulmonologist performed a biopsy on July 12th.  This was when we discovered she was in stage 4 cancer. My Mother is undergoing radiation now (10 days) and chemotherapy is next along with targeted therapy. Since my Mom is a nurse who cares for geriatric patients in nursing homes, she is no longer allowed to work.  Right before this she just started a new job on June 1st.  

This is my only parent and she is terminal. 

She will be applying for Medicaid and other resources, but this will take some time.  She has an upcoming Cobra payment of $630 on August 1 (and monthly after that). In addition to that she has her mortgage/association fees and utilities. I am helping out as much as I can afford.  We were told the outside resources can take months before getting approved.  We would greatly appreciate any donation amount because anything and everything helps at this point.
