Dear Kind Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned Citizens and voters of CANADA, Permanent Residents and dignified members of t the Canadian community, are writing with urgency and deep concern regarding Ms. Gloria N. Kasule, whose Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) application is currently under consideration.
We all understand that Ms. Kasule is facing removal from Canada on April 24, 2026, while her H&C application remains pending. We respectfully ask that her situation be given full and compassionate consideration, and that she be allowed to remain in Canada while her application is being assessed.
We are not writing to challenge past decisions. Rather, we are writing as people who know Gloria today as a member of our community who is trying to rebuild her life with dignity.
Since arriving in Canada, Gloria has made genuine efforts to stabilize herself and integrate.
She has participated in community programs, connected with support organizations, and remained respectful and law-abiding. Those of us who have interacted with her have come to know her as a quiet, resilient individual who is doing her best under very difficult circumstances.
At present, Gloria is also dealing with significant health challenges. She has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and severe depression, and she is currently receiving care in Canada. We are deeply concerned that removal at this time would interrupt her treatment and place her in a much more vulnerable position.
In addition, Gloria has just experienced a devastating personal loss. Her dad passed away on March 29, 2026, and was laid to rest on March 31, 2026, in Uganda. This loss has had a profound emotional impact on her, especially given that she was unable to be present with her family during this difficult time.
The timing of this bereavement, so close to her scheduled removal, has only intensified her distress. As members of the community, we have come together because we believe this is a moment where compassion is needed.
We respectfully ask that, in assessing her H&C application, consideration be given to:
Her current mental health condition and ongoing treatment
The recent loss of her father and its emotional impact
Her efforts to integrate and remain engaged in the community the support she continues to receive from those around her
We believe that Gloria deserves the opportunity to have her circumstances fully and fairly considered without the immediate pressure of removal. Canada is known for balancing fairness with compassion. We are simply asking that this same spirit be applied in Gloria’s case.
