Daniel Woods Rhys joined the United States Army in 2015. He became an Army Ranger and served for two years with the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. In 2022, he was one of the Americans that volunteered to fight with the Ukrainian people. He met the love of his life, Tanya, while in Ukraine. They were married and had a son that he named after his grandpa, Paul Woods.

Daniel was killed in action on July 29 while conducting a military operation at the frontline. His wife and one-year-old son are now left alone in a war zone.

I am an old friend of the family. I knew him when he was a little boy and I knew him briefly as a young man. I cannot imagine what his wife is going through right now and I’m asking for money for a funeral and to help her get on her feet while dealing with this horrible new reality.
