I’m Amirat Ahmed, a 24year-old final-year student .On Nov 18, 2024, while waiting for a Keke in Ilorin after work, some men jumped out of a tricycle and poured acid on my face and body. I was in shock, burning, and in pain. I couldn't even scream.

Strangers helped me get to a clinic, but they couldn’t treat acid burns. At the General Hospital, we were turned away due to an ongoing strike at the time. I’ve been left scarred by people I never knew, for reasons I still don’t understand. I’m now in urgent need of surgeries and treatment.
