Hello. My name is Alysha (24 years old) and I am under financial hardship with hospital bills from two visits in late December and would appreciate some help.
I had been suffering from the effects of a stomach ulcer for a week after taking too many NSAIDs for pain relief over my lower impacted wisdom teeth trying to erupt, shifting my teeth and overall messing up my bite, causing my front tooth to move painfully. After my tooth pain had stopped, I developed heartburn and whole body aches from the pain of the stomach ulcer, slowly worsening until I sought out treatment. I was miserable the entire time, unable to sleep properly.
I visited the emergency room at Piedmont twice on Dec 25 and Dec 27.
During the first visit my symptoms were not taken seriously and I was prescribed an antihistamine for anxiety and insomnia I was experiencing due to the constant pain.
My second visit, on the 27th, I was able to be taken seriously and be prescribed what I needed after telling the same physician I suspected that my symptoms were caused by a stomach ulcer.
I was under the impression that I was still covered under my father's plan but was informed during patient registration that he had removed me without telling me and didn't care that I was unaware. So both of these visits were done while I was uninsured.
I am currently paying for the physician bill alongside the hospital bill with help from my boyfriend, who is our sole income provider. We have no way of covering this without going into more personal debt.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please share and help us out of our current hardship.
