Please Help Ali and Devin Over a Rough Patch
Donation protected
Devin, Ali and Remi are going through a rough patch right now, and we'd like to raise $5500 to help them.
In May 2021, Ali was working hard to get her translation startup going. She also cared for Remi and their home, as Devin worked two jobs, and donated plasma twice a week. Then Ali's Jeep was hit by another driver who ran a stop sign. Ali suffered injuries to her neck, back, and left forearm/wrist, which made it very difficult for her to do housework, care for Remi, or build her translation business, as she'd prepared to do. The Jeep, their second car, was totaled. (Ali has an attorney, and is pursuing compensation from the other driver's insurance company. Unfortunately, no funds can be paid until Ali's injuries have been fully treated, and all her medical bills have been counted.)
Since Ali's accident, Devin’s had to take on even more work at the weekends to keep them together while she recovers. But after seven months of physical therapy, Ali still didn't have full use of her left arm. Finally, a new physician determined that she'd suffered several tears in the accident of the soft tissues around her left wrist and forearm, which require surgery to repair.
Ali's arm surgery is scheduled for Monday, March 7, 2022, and she's looking at a 12-week-long recovery.
Family members are helping as much as they can with cleaning and childcare, but Devin and Ali are struggling a bit to keep their home heated, and their bills paid.
We'd like to raise $5500 to give Devin and Ali some breathing room until Ali's lawsuit is settled. The funds will help reduce the stress they're under, especially during Ali's recovery.
Even if you can't donate now, thanks very much for reading. Please send Ali a message of encouragement, healing and support. She'd appreciate it very much.
