Please help Alexander study abroad

We have thought for a long time about the idea of sending Alexander abroad. Unfortunately some long standing possibilities have recently come to a definitive closure, which has left us scrambling to salvage this plan. We were dismayed to find out that not only have all scholarship deadlines passed, but even most exchange program deadlines have passed. We have managed to find an exchange program which is willing to squeeze him in, but the payment has to be made in less than two weeks. The program will cover his international travel, education costs, international health insurance and a local contact person from the program who will be checking in on him and be a support if he needs any help while living abroad.
Alexander is an Eagle Scout, having earned this rank at 15 years old. He has been awarded Honor Scout three different quarters and is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. Alexander has almost finished all of his senior year classes. Social service continues to be very important to him- he is currently in his 13th year in Big Brothers, Big Sisters programming, and his third year as paid staff as a junior counselor at Camp Oty'Okwa. This past autumn semester Alexander interned for the Columbus City Council in the office of President Pro Tem Shannon Hardin. He is kind, considerate, and wants more than anything to broaden his horizons and have the experience of being abroad for his senior year.
We are coming to ask, and we realize it is a big ask, for help to fund this education experience.
Thank you for your consideration and assistance in helping Alexander further his education and study abroad.
