My good friend Alan needs our help.
Alan had recently purchased a Baskin Robbins ice-cream shop in Foster City, CA and he was getting his life on track. His Baskin Robbins had customers, good weather and was in a good location. Things were looking up; he wasn’t going to get rich but his bills were getting paid. He was working 6 to 7 days a week, 12 hours days but he was heading in the right direction. All that changed in an instant when Alan’s mother died. Alan lived with and cared for his mother for many years. Now, Alan had to deal with running the store and all of the details of arranging a funeral for his mother including getting her back to Hawaii to be buried, as per her wishes. Just after Alan’s mother’s passing, his sister decided to attack the family trust and not honor their mother’s wishes. She then proceeded to file a lawsuit against Alan in order to steal the house from him. As a result he had to hire an attorney and it turned into a lengthy and expensive court battle.
Being that it was winter-time, ice cream sales were down and income was at a bare minimum. Most of the money coming in had to be redirected to pay the attorney, which ultimately caused him to loose his lease and the initial investment in the Baskin Robins. This created a domino affect; without an income there was no way to pay the mortgage so he was forced to sell the house that he inherited at a huge loss. The small net profit from the sale of his house is currently tied up in the courts and he is unable to access it until it is settled. The courts are now closed and no one knows when they’ll reopen. His sister somehow convinced the courts that Alan had to pay her $110,000 even though the trust stated very clearly that his parents wrote her off after she verbally, and mentally abused their parents for years and swindled his mom out of the house she owned in Hawaii.
At this time Alan has no money, his credit cards are maxed to the limit and he’s essentially homeless. Luckily his relatives have taken him in, but it’s unclear how long he will be able to stay with them.
Any donation will help.
Thank you very much
Angelo
