Please help Aimwell Dux Mhenduah fight cancer

Hi, my name is Johnnette, and I am raising funds to help my little nephew undergo surgery due to cancer.
Aimwell Dux Mhenduah is an energetic, intelligent, outspoken and outgoing 15-year-old boy who loves to play soccer. Aimwell started to complain of pain in his right leg sometime back in 2020, and his mother would give him pain killers and the pain would subside. One day in March 2021, he went to practice, and by the time he returned, he was limping and kept on complaining about strobing pain in his right hip, especially at night. After several trips to the orthopaedic with lots of tests and CT scans, a biopsy was performed – and awaiting results three months later, Aimwell was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma- a form of cancer in children ages 10-16. We were sent home with painkillers and a recommendation to seek cancer treatment outside of Liberia as there are no cancer treatment centers in Liberia.
After a few weeks of arranging travel documents, Aimwell and his mother travelled to Ghana. An orthopaedic surgeon at the Kolebu Teaching Hospital re-examined Aimwell and confirmed that his Osteosarcoma has progressed and recommended a total of 3 rounds of chemotherapy and then a bone surgery to remove the remaining tumour. The three chemo sections have gone surprisingly well without alarming side effects and with a dramatic decrease in his pains. However, a trip to the Orthopedic on October 4th, sadly revealed that the cancer had damaged Aimwell’s right femur. A total hip replacement is the best course of treatment for him to return to an everyday, pain-free life. With this surgery, it is expected that Aimwell can return to living his full active life of soccer, biking, schooling and playing with his friends.
The fees for non-Ghanaians to undergo a cancerous hip transplant in Ghana will cost USD 20,000. We have tagged along with the chemotherapy but this is a high and unexpected cost, so we ask for your support. If you have met Aimwell, you know what a unique and talented boy he is. I truly appreciate your donation, and it means the world to me to have your support.
Aimwell will be scheduled for a total hip replacement as soon as we can raise half of the fees.
