Hi from Jan on Manitoulin Island in Ontario! My family friend Jovian needs help to build a home after he lost everything in Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. This photo shows what remained after the hurricane. He has been homeless since October 28. His son lives with his mother.

I first met Jovian in 2011 when his father was dying of cancer in hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. I went to Kingston with my sister Betty for a last visit. Jovian was 16 at the time, and his father was a very good friend of my sister Betty, who considered Jovian as a loved stepson and helped him out until she died in 2021. I've helped him out since then, but now Jovian's home is destroyed, and there's wreckage everywhere. He had a job driving a delivery van until Melissa struck.

Then everything stopped. He can't find a place to rent so he's building a home. Please see my Facebook page Jan McQuay for more.
