Hi my name is Katie and I am fundraising for Abby and her beautiful family,

Abby and her family moved to Australia from New Zealand just over 3 years ago.

On the 18th of June 2022 after a routine eye test Abby was alerted to a abnormal test result she was directed to John Hunter Hospital ASAP

It was discovered that she had a right sphenoid wing meningioma. Abby had surgery on June 28th which in itself was a massive shock and was a lot to process in a very short time.

She had been living unaware with some pretty major symptoms but had explained them all away including chronic headaches.

Unfortunately Abby has not had a good recovery with viral meningitis two weeks post op and now at 2 months post op she still dependant on regular pain management with low energy and feeling mentally fatigued all the time.

Even the most simple tasks are now exhausting!

Pathology showed it was grade 2, cancerous, so Abby will be meeting with Radiation specialist next week to assess next steps.

Abby will also need physiotherapy for her jaw as she is still unable to open it fully and chewing is a chore.

A family of 5 on single income with mounting medical expenses and the excessive rise in the cost of living is really weighing on them.
