My name is Terry, I am 64 years old and an 8 year veteran of the US Navy Submarine Force. From July 2024 until about 2 weeks ago I was unable to work due to health issues. In November 2024 I underwent major surgery called an “Aortic/Femoral Bypass “. I spent nearly 9 hours on the operating table. I am still recovering but am able to work once again. Due to the almost 7 months of not being able to work and the fact that my wife’s salary is not even enough to cover the mortgage let alone living expenses, we have been forced to burn through all of our reserves and are behind on most of our bills, including our mortgage. I have looked into all of the assistance programs I could find but those efforts have been fruitless. I am here because I really don’t want to become another homeless veteran.
