Please help a pair of married transwomen escape debt

My name is Sophia Emi Edwards, wife to Fianna Carey for the past six years, and today was one of the biggest shocks of our lives: We were served legal papers for outstanding credit card debt, totaling over $11000.

This was something completely unexpected to me, and after a great deal of pain and frustration, Fianna finally admitted to me that to support me over these years, she's had to pay a credit card bill she couldn't quite manage, and we've now found ourselves underwater.

I have ADHD, autism, and tremendous anxiety that has made holding down a job incredibly difficult. No matter what I've tried, it's fallen apart. I hold no anger towards Fia, because she was doing her best to support me even beyond her means. It was a terrible mistake, but it was a mistake nonetheless, and one I will personally ensure never repeats. Despite my disabilities and issues that have only grown as I've faced increasing discrimination for my gender identity and status as a foreigner in the US, I'll be seeking immediate work, and we're planning to pay off as much of this debt as possible as quickly as possible, so we can get back to having stable lives once again.

We are so tremendously sorry to ask this of you. As a pair of transwomen in a difficult situation, life has been pushing us against the wall for well over a decade now, but I hope that with this change, we can begin to start living again and pull ourselves out of this hole for good. You owe us nothing, but any bit you can contribute, even just a couple of cents, would mean the world to us. Over the years we have been shown a great deal of love and support that we do not take for granted. To ask this of you all is not something either of us do lightly, and whatever it takes, we swear we will make it up to you one day. Til then, all I can ask is that you please help.
