Hello, my name is Divya, and I’m from Vancouver, BC. I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend’s father, who is currently in critical condition after suffering a major heart attack in Calgary, Alberta.

He came to Canada from Punjab, India, nearly a year and a half ago on a Super Visa to spend time with his children and be close to his family. Sadly, his super visa medical insurance expired just two months ago, and he now finds himself in a life-threatening medical crisis without any coverage.

He is currently hospitalized in Calgary and urgently requires intensive cardiac care, procedures, and continuous monitoring. With no insurance, the cost of his treatment is entirely out-of-pocket—and the daily hospital bills range from hundreds to several thousand dollars. The financial strain on the family is overwhelming, and they are struggling to cover both medical and everyday living expenses.

We are raising funds to help cover the following urgent needs:

• Hospital bills (ICU care, emergency services, overnight stays)

• Cardiac procedures, medications, and diagnostics

• Tests including ECG, echocardiograms, blood work, and imaging

• Follow-up medical care
