Darla Warner is an ICU Nurse at The Iowa City Veterans hospital and is now needing your help.
She is battling stage 4 ovarian cancer.
Darla has been working in healthcare, caring for others her whole life, and had a little back pain. What healthcare worker does not?
As a devoted nurse, mother and grandmother, she is always putting others before herself. She continued to care for OUR veterans, with her positive attitude and smile, all the while the cancer was spreading without her knowledge. Darla continued to care for others, ignoring her pain, until she found out the dreaded disease had spread from her ovaries to other areas of her body.
Darla's family have been tirelessly committed to helping Darla through procedures, tests, and chemotherapy; however, now they are starting to struggle with the bills coming in.
This beautiful woman can only be described as an angel. She has an infectious laugh, and she’s a talented musician and vocalist and a nurse, so caring of others; she is always there to guide patients through their journeys and treat them with dignity.
Her generous HUGS are the most comforting of all.
All of us have experienced the destruction cancer does to our lives or the lives of those we love, and Darla deserves to worry only about her own health now, so she can see her 2 1/2 year oldgranddaughter grow up!
