On Saturday, August 18 my son Landon was at basic training in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
As they were doing routine running he stepped in a hole and fell.
He got up and fought through his pain for 7-8 hours. He continued throughout his PT and daily activities.
When he asked his drill sgt about getting checked out-they didn’t know the severity and told him he was a quitter and that he was a disappointment to his family.
At approximately 11pm he ended up in the ER-they did an X-ray. His Patella is broken and possibly a torn meniscus.
They are rushing him to Cox Medical Center -a trauma center in Springfield for surgery.
He will be sent home to recover and prayerfully he will be able to fulfill his lifelong dream of serving his country.
I need to get there to be with my son! However, because tickets are increased on short notice-tickets are almost $800! Plus cost of meals and possible hotel.
