Hi Friends, almost 23 months ago to the day my life changed for the worse. On September 13, 2023 I had an attack of acute diverticulitis in my intestines. This attack burst my intestines in two places, leaking fecal matter into my blood stream. It was the worst pain I have ever felt. Because fecal matter leaked into my bloodstream I eventually went septic. They managed to knock out the infection by putting me into a hyperbolic chamber and pumping me full of antibiotics via an IV. once the infection was cleared they performed life saving surgery on me. They routed my colon and sphincter into a stoma which is a hole in my stomach where I eliminate fecal matter into an ostomy bag. I then proceeded to get fired from my job, because of non attendance even though I had a Doctors note. I then got illegally evicted from my apartment even though I had paid on time for 10 months straight prior to that. After that my Mother took a Greyhound up from California to Henderson Hospital in Las Vegas where I was living at the time. The plan was once I was discharged from the Hospital she would drive my car with me into it back to their house. SO I could live there because I couldn't walk because my surgery stitches had to be in to heal the surgery spot.
Once we got back to my apartment my car was gone and it had been repossessed because I couldn't work and support myself because of the surgery. Mom helped me to the steps of my apartment and I just cried and balled my eyes out. I had lost everything in a span of two weeks and almost lost my life. So luckily my Uncle wired us some money so we could take the Greyhound back to my parents house in California.
The stoma was only supposed to be temporary and was supposed to be reversed within the first three months. As a result it herniated beyond belief and is the size of a basketball. I couldn't walk and had to use a wheelchair, effectively making me bed bound. The pain was and has been so intense, it is beyond a 10 level. They denied my disability claim so I had literally no way of supporting myself. I spent the better part of a year and a half trying to get my reversal surgery done and the hernia surgery done out in California. Each and every time being turned away by every surgeon, because they hadn't performed the original surgery and didn't know the specifics of it.
Meanwhile myself and my family depended on me to earn money and I couldn't work and support myself. I then had the idea of moving back to Vegas with a friend who let me live there for free luckily. I did this because hopefully the original surgeon would have done the next surgery I needed. Turns out that I owed $5,000 to the original surgeon, somehow my insurance didn't cover the cutting and meshing of the colon where the two holes were. This means that I need to pay off the debt to the Surgeon if I am to get my Stoma reversal surgery and hernia fixed. My life literally depends on it, because the hernia will get so big it will move up to my heart and choke it out. Then it will be game set and match for me. Please find it in our heart to donate, every dollar helps me get closer to my goal. I thank you very much and God bless you all!
Hi Friends, a quick update. So the surgeon out in Riverside, California would not take the surgery. Once again since the original surgery wasn't done by this surgeon he refused to take it. So I had the idea of moving back out to Las Vegas, Nevada near where the original surgery took place in 2023 of routing my colon into a stoma, which is a hole in my stomach where the sphincter is routed. I have been eliminating fecal matter into an ostomy bag for almost 21 months now. Since the stoma was only supposed to be temporary and reversed within the first three months it has gotten herniated beyond belief. It is so much pain I have been bed ridden for nearly two years and I have been unable to work.
I can't lift anything over 20 pounds and I cannot stand on my feet for more than 10 minutes. Plus they won't grant my SSI disability. It is the ultimate catch 22. Anyhow, so I moved back to Henderson in hopes that the original Surgeon could fix the hernia and reattach my intestines to their original destination. It turns out somehow my insurance didn't cover parts of the original surgery in 2023, which was over $5,000. So that amount needs to be paid out of my pocket in order to get my Hernia fixing and reversal surgery done. If this surgery doesn't happen the hernia will get so big it will move upwards and eventually choke out my heart, and I will no longer exist.
Please find it in your heart to make a donation, you will be making the effort to help save my life. Attached below are pictures of my hernia as of 08/05/2025. Also attached below is a picture of the bill. God bless you and I love you all.
