Hello concerned folkz........ I hope you are doing well........I'm experiencing a pretty serious challenge.......After my previous vehicle died i had saved my money for a year and in the spring of 2020 i paid $ 6,200 for a 2003 Toyota 4Runner to live in and for working transformational festivals as a vendor. It was the most I ever paid for a vehicle but I figured it would provide me a home and transportation for at least a decade . Then as I was on my way to the first festival of 2020 COVID shut them down for two years and i have been struggling financially ever since. Then on September 3rd 2024 coming back from a gig my brakes failed and i lost control of my vehicle while coming off the I-80 exit ramp to Colfax California, spun around and ended up on the side of the road. Fortunately, no one was injured but before I had a chance to have it towed the police impounded my truck. Insurance did not cover me and for many reasons i was unable to recover it from the impound lot . Since losing my "home" and all my posessions i have been sleeping on the grounds of a church in North Berkeley, spending my day at the original Peets and eating the free meals at Dorothy Day House nearby while saving my retirement checks of $1,300 per month. To purchase another practical, reliable, low mileage truck/home i will need $7, 000 including registration fees, insurance, etc.. On January 3rd 2025 i will have $3500 and i will need $3500 more. I no longer have any immediate family members, my bank turned me down for a loan and my few friends are unable to help me financially. So my last hope is to reach out through GoFundMe to manifest the money for my new home. I would be very very grateful for anything you can afford to gift me----every little bit helps.
