About a week before Christmas we found out that our dog JJ has cancer. He's only 7 years old! When the vet gave us the news, we were devastated. JJ is my baby and one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He'll greet you right at the front door with a bunch of kisses and a big hug. He is full of energy and loves to run around and play with his two furry brothers! You'd never know that he was sick and I thank God that he doesn't have a clue! I am his mama and we have been through a lot in the last 7 years. I cannot imagine my life without him but I know, at some point, I have to. Just not now. He's way too young. The vet gave us the option to operate, to remove the tumor, and treat the cancer. So after the operation they will follow up with chemo or radiation. If we don't do this, he would only have about 6 months to a year to live. If we do go ahead with the surgery, which is scheduled for this Thursday it can give him years with us as opposed to months. They will take out the tumor and treat the other cancer that's left around it. When all is said and done this is going to cost over $30,000. After the operation on thurs, we will already have paid about $6,000. Then he starts his chemo or his radiation treatments. It's so ironic that I posted a question about pet insurance a month ago. I was in the process of picking one and then I got this horrible news. Well, insurance is not an option for him anymore. Again, it's devastating. I never felt good about asking anyone for money or help but we will do anything and everything, at this point, as long as he's comfortable, to have him around for another 5 years! We were told that this operation and treatment would possibly do just that with very minimal, if any at all, discomfort. It's a chance I'm willing to take. Like i said, It's very difficult for me to ask for help but it's either I ask or I possibly lose my livelihood and go into debt. How do you pay for a mortgage and pay vet bills for a dog as sick as JJ at the same time? You can't. Please donate and help me give him some more time with us! I know money is tight for everyone but anything you can give is more than appreciated. He has a lot of life left in him and he's just not ready for doggy heaven yet :) please share this with friends and family!
