Hello, my name is Shannon, we are a family of 4 which includes Myself, my partner Grant and my 2 children Milo & Sadie we recently got a kitten back in November 2024 only 10 months old she is a beautiful ginger kitten and has beautiful honey eyes, she is such a lovely funny little character.

Unfortunately on Friday evening Cheddar was hit by a car and currently had a broken pelvis in 2 places and has lost the sensation in her tail due to nerve damage.

Due to the type of cover we have this particular surgery/issue is not covered we have already paid £500 for her initial treatments. But going forward she needs to have more treatment and now surgery! The surgery to have her tail amputated alone is £1,300-£2,000 this is not including her xray, enema and pain medications she needs in the meantime before the tail amputation! Obviously in this day and age I know everyone has their own expenses and it's a very hard time. But we didn't expect this to happen and we were not expecting such a hefty vet bill.

If you could donate anything to help towards our beloved family pet Cheddar's treatments and surgery would be so appreciated! We want her to have her treatments she is so young only 10 months old. She is so loved by us all especially our children they love her and it would break their hearts if the alternative had to happen to Cheddar or if Cheddar couldn't have her treatments/surgery. This truly is our last resort we didn't want to have to ask for help but we are lost and have nothing left we can do we have never done anything like this before!

UPDATE:

Cheddar has been to the vets today for a follow up appointment she spent the whole day at the vets and needed further treatment, she has had her enema and her new pain meds which come to £341 I have another appointment next week to get more pain relief and an update on her bowel/tail! (She needs to be able to open her bowels herself without medical help) I will continue to post the updates and money paid each time I go. Good evening, another update on cheddar. Im going to pause the go fund me now, we are seeing a little bit of life in her tail now so the sensation could be returning. The money made so far has gone on her previous vet bill for her bowls and pain medications. So I am going to pause it to see ifbthe tail issues are fixed naturally or surgery is needed.
