Hello,

Our beloved family member, Leann, who is elderly and has never been more vulnerable, was recently the victim of a violent aggravated assault and is now in the hospital suffering from a severe brain bleed. She is one of the kindest, funniest, and most caring women you could ever meet. Right now, she has very limited support in Lethbridge during this incredibly difficult time.

Her son, Paul, has been traveling back and forth between Winnipeg and Lethbridge to be by his mother’s side, advocate for her care, and help with everything he can. Because of this, he has had to take time away from work and take on sudden, overwhelming travel costs, with more expenses expected in the coming weeks.

Over the past year, Paul’s savings were already depleted due to a previous family emergency in April 2025, and he has been doing everything he can to manage on his own. Asking for help does not come naturally to this family. They are private, humble people who are always the first to give support to others and the last to ask for anything in return.

We are hoping to raise funds to help cover:

Travel expenses between Winnipeg and Lethbridge

Lost income from time away from work

Home care support for Leann

Medications and therapy

Other unforeseen expenses related to her recovery and care

We understand times are difficult for many people right now, and we do not ask lightly. If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to this family.
